6th gen celis

hey guys...new here and looking to get a 6th gen celica....well that is if they are not trash.=|

have not been able to find very much info on them and even less on people raving about them...looks like peeps have more of the below 6th gen and above 7th gen celicas. I DO care about power...hehe i currently have a 99 ram air trans am with goodies on it and i LOVE the power. I seriously doubt that i can get any celica that much power and quickness cheaply. But anyway does anyone have any advice on these 6th gen celicas like what would be the best year to get and gt / gts all that stuff i don't get . I am a import Noob i am making a interest help me out guys =)

peace,

If you care about power, stick with the Trans Am or get a 5th gen Alltrac.

Its the 5th gen Celi with a 2.0L turbo'd motor and awd. They can take huge amount of mods on stock internals, go to www.alltrac.com for more info.

production years for the Alltrac were 1988-1989 (4th gen, Chassis Code: ST165) and 1990-1993 (5th gen, Chassis Code: ST185). There were 6th gen versions (1994-1999, Chassis Code: ST205) but they weren't sold in NA.

Good luck getting a 6th Gen All Trac (GT-Four) / ST205

They were produced in very very low numbers (not to mention that the 6th Gen (GT Liftback) were also produced in pretty low numbers when it comes to Celica standards.. because.. the car was over priced, under powered.. blah blah blah .. not to mention Acura interference..)

Anyhow as far as I know knows, there were a few left hand-drive models of the ST205 manufactured for the France/Italy/Germany/Switzerland (see http://www.toyotacelicaonline.com/069st205white.htm)

But yeah.. back to good luck getting one. If you really want one, you're best bet is to get one from Jamaica. There are a number of them there, and I saw one when I was vacationing in St. Maarten (Caribbean) .. imagine how I felt because the car I was sporting was a Daewoo Matiz (www.mymatiz.com .. ghetto, I know)

Other than that you'll be able to bring one in form Europe, but I don't know about the import laws, and registration and what not.

Hope that helps..

Shaun
