Hi guys... been reading so much that my head hurts...

ok, from all that i've read and gathered for the 3sgte swap onto a 6th gen celica.

the 2 avail trannies that are options are;
the E153 from the V6 camry or solara &
the one from the mr2 turbo tranny,

the problem with the mr2 tranny is that something is too short and i'll have to get something from the V6 camry or solara and mate it with the mr2T and make a hybrid

however, that process is only needed if i intended to push for more than 250whp.

Else, if it's just a swap with stock parts and slightly higher than stock boost, the tranny from the V6 camry or solara will blot on without modifications and would hold the power that i need.

the e153 from the solara will be fine if you are running a 185 eng. i still say you should have gotten one from a 205 converting obd gens is a pain

^ the 205 was not launched in the states, therefore it's tough to get parts for the 205. the 185 is the best option as from what i've read.

would it be right to say that the e153 from the solara is a direct bolt on to the 3sgte

yes it will bolt on. im not sure about the pins. i believe you wont have one? or you might have to cut one....its somewhere here on tn. 3s blocks are for the most part similiar. unless you are planning on doing some wierd crazy shit. i still would have went for the 205...more power too

edit: either way, id use the e153 from a solara. you dont have to worry with shifter linkage, and they have revised synchros for smoother shifting
