I heard from someone who work at a dealership, that toyota is no longer manufacturing cecilica any more, and that the 05 is the last year they will make the cilica models, i need to know becuase im waiting for the 06 cilica, and does anyone know if there is a convertible celica, becuase i'm seeing pic on yahoo, that show convertible celica. Need to know ASAP.
That's correct, there is no more Celica as of '05. The new "Celica" is the Scion tC. And there are convertable Celicas from the late '80s to '99, but none of the newer ones were made with that option.
newest you can get is an 05 I think, if you can find one. better off buying a wrx for the price. and I got trd running though my blood, and nothing but celica in my head, or get an alltrac

theres an 06 in england, if you want to pay the shipping price to get it shipped over here i guess you could get a 06, but there wont be another celica after 05, theres rumors about a new sports car along the supra line comeing around 07, but as of now thats all it is, a rumor
As far as I know it was supposed to be discontinued after the 2005 model year because of low sales. If Celica dies I won't care because it will be replaced with something better. The current generation Celica isn't avaliable in a convertible trim.

If your talking about the Celica than I disagree, becasue I think the Tc is one ugly fat car. The Celica is lighter, has better handling, and history. Toyota why did you make this descision?

I meant that Toyota would probably come up with another vehicle to replace Celica. I didn't mean that tC was the replacement. I like the way tC looks.

i'm takign it that the england 06' is nothing more then just another 7th gen 05'
now for the "new sports car" coming out in 07'
its roots are from the supra but isn't related to the supra if that makes sense
it is coming out in 07 as i understand but as a lexus its already been showed at a few national shows and sports rear radiators center exhaust, and sumthing like 500+hp
When I called TRD to see about getting a smoke fuel door for my 2000 celica the guy there said they were discontinued because they weren't making the celicas anymore after 2005, but someone else said that only meant they weren't making them anymore in the US...so I assume that they will be making them in Japan or whatever, but since u can't legally ship an entire car from Japan that doesn't help us out much.
you can get em here too - but if you wanted one in the US its more than the shipping cost you have to worry about The price for a new celica minus on road costs is around $60,000 at the moment, so after adding shipping and registration etc it would probably be closer to $80,000 if you wanted to buy one from here and ship it over hehe...

yes, i think it might have more hp than the american models, not for sure tho.

thats what i meant, its going to be based along the supra but itll be a whole new platform, once toyota kills a car itll eventually be replaced by another car, with a different name.
Man sorry to say it but toyota is fuckin up. The supra was a legacy of performance, and out of nowhere HEY LETS GET RID OF IT, now the celica? Whats wrong with toyota all of a sudden..
yea and the mr2 as well. now toyotas most high preformance car is the matrix. its pretty sad when the closest thing you have to a sports car is a family wagon.
