Transmission swap with a 91 Camry??

I've got a 91 V6 Camry with a 3-gear automatic transmission with overdrive, and I've also got an 89 Celica with the same type of transmission. My celica's tranny's giving me problems and i was thinking about putting the camry's tranny into my celica. Are they entrely transferrable without having to make any changes or modifications at all?

tough question. Yes the transmissions are compatible and you can bolt on in place of another, but there is never any definate answer to wether you will have to chage something. When you go from one car to another, there is always the possiblity that something will be different. But if you are competent enough to pull a transmission out, you should be able to figure out any minor snags along the way.
