Get a new idler pulley and new stuff in there; with used parts, you're just asking for trouble

hey it wont run w/o your alternator there too well... but hey I'm anal.
Otherwise, yea bent valve no good. I didn't have a problem when i did it, though it didn't start the first time (c'mon what does?) cause we were off two teeth on the cam gear and I was extremely glad I had the 4afe that day cause i only have one cam gear. My advice for doing anything yourself is to mark everything twice, even in the same spot.

Well like i said we got it fixed so we really don't have to work on it any more, but we did get another 86 Celica for parts the only difference in the two cars is that the one we just bought is an automatic and the one that I have is a standard, but hey for $50 you can't beet that. Well later on this week were going to start taking parts out of it. Make my car like almost new. This other car had better interior, they said that the transmission is out on this car so well see what we are going to do well talk to yall later.
