First, save $3-400

Second, Call tow truck (if timing belt is broke, if not procede to step 3)

Third, Take car to mechanic who knows what he is doing.

Fourth, Drive home happy that you have your car back, and its not in a thousand peices in your driveway.

If you dont know how to do it, you arent going to figure it out from a post on the internet. IF you are really serious, spend $15 and go buy a haynes manual and read about how to do it there.

lol, sorry dude, but yea, thats about the best you're gonna get.

Timing belt isnt the easiest thing to do, you have to work in a cramped area, and with lots of parts that are vital to engine operation. also, the procedure is extremely detailed, and if you mess it up, it will be very hard to get everything realigned and back in running order.

and for future reference, include the engine in the description. Ive seen 86 celica's with i think 4 different engines depending on where you are and what month the car was released.

thanks for your input, we found a guy that knows what he is doing and we started to change it got almost done and found out that the idoler pully is out the berrings are out in it and that is what made the timing belt go out. And you were right, it is a very tough thing to do we were working on it for 5 hours and were still not done. the engine is a 2se. so does any body know were I can get a new idoler pully? Well I guess I will let everybody know what happens in the end.

i have the dealership manual. if you try to do it yourself and come to a part where you get stuck PM me. its a pretty big pain in the ass. but its doable. im not going to wrtie it all out because its a good 4 pages.

go to the dealership for parts if you cant find them
