New to the celica threads

I am thinking about getting a 2002 - 2004 celica and making it ultra fast. Who on this forum has a 12 second or less Celica? I want to knwo what I am looking at as far as wrench time and $$$. I just finished a stereo upgrade on my daily driver an now looking for a car to turn into a winner . . .

Thought about just getting a WRX STI and not dealing with any problems. But I want a "sleeper".

Any help would be great!

Thousands and thousands of dollars. Probably not even possible with the current engine. And even if you do figure it out, its still a FWD car, so its pretty much pointless, that STI would still hand you your ass on a platter, cause you'd never get that power to the ground.

7th gen celicas arent particularly fast, they do OK, but thats it. its a small 1.8l high compression engine. GTS's have around 180hp, you'd have to get that thing up to around probably 400-500hp to get it down to 12sec.

that is what i thought

want something different. STIs are fast and look OK, but I want a small 2 door machine for under $30K that kicks ass. Looked at supras and damn those suckers are spendy right now . . . anything over $40K I would just get a bank note for the rest of the money and get an m3 with an smg . . . oh well the search continues.
