Canada Igniter test??

Hello, I have a 94 Celica GTS, manual tranny. It's been sitting for a bit, but I have taken it out once a month or so and everything was always fine until now.
Starter is working, but no start. I have Chilton's Repair manual and went through a spark test diagram. Everything passed the tests all the way to the bottom of the chart which ends at "Try Another Igniter"
Toyota wants $399.60 for one.
Is there a test for the igniter specifically that this book isn't telling me?
Im not ready to drop 4 bills on a 'maybe'
anyone else ever have this??

any help or advice is appreciated.
thanks,
Jay

Do you have Autozone in Canada? If you do... drop your igniter for free testing!

yeah the fuel pump is underneath the back seat and not hard to replace at all. fuck even dropping the tank isn't that hard.

How many Km are on the car. It also could be the timing belt. If its been sitting the rubber could have cracked???? just a thought

I did a fuel pump test from the manual. it's quite simple. you just connect two leads in the diagnostics box. it failed.

Hi, you guys still around.... I have a similar problem with my 94 Celica GT - no spark, just suddenly quit. I ohm'ed out the pick up coil, checked for 12V on the coil, all OK. Guessed it was the ignitor, replaced if for $144 from Advance Auto.... still nothing. Any suggestions on what to check next?
