Help!!! lost newbie here

I have a 03 celica gts and am stuck with trying to start the car. Just the other day as I was about to leave the car, I pushed the remote to lock the car before the door was fully closed. That triggered the alarm, but once I closed the door tightly and relocked it, the alarm stopped. However, the next day when I tried to unlock the car with the remote, there was no response at all. When I manually opened the door with the key and got in, the ignition seemed to have gotten cut off. I'm pretty sure its the alarm system that is cutting all the functions off. There is absolutely no response to the remote key and I've researched around and can't find any information on how to 'reset' the system. The car is wired with toyota's "vehicle intrusion program" as so it says on the window sticker :P ... Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

This really sounds like a "go to the dealer" as much as I try and avoid it myself, other than parts of course.
good luck and let us know.

A friend of mine had the exact problem a few weeks ago on a Nissan NXR. I fixed it by disconnecting the battery and leaving it a few mins so that the alarm could lose its settings..thats all it took. I hope youve tried the simple options like this
