Will a 22r fit in a 80 celica GT?

My 20r in my celica went south after 350,000 miles. Anyways, I have a running 22r out of my 81 toyota p/up(did a 350 swap), and was wondering if it bolts right in? If not do they make a 350 conversion for this car?

Yes the 22R will directly bolt into your car. A lot of guys with 1st gens and 20R motors put 22R's in theres all the time. Also the 81 Celica came with a 22R. As for the chevy 350 kit I beleive you can use the 350 kit from a 4runner to drop in a 350 but it isn't as easy and using the kit and dropping in the motor because in a celica it has a 6.7" rear end and is only good for about 200hp and so you would have to drop in a different rear end. A 1st gen supra rear end would be your best bet because it is a 7.5" and is a direct bolt in plus you can use the LSD from the 2nd and 3rd gen supras. The reason why the 350 is all you need in a 4runner and truck is because they have an 8" rear end that is one of the toughest rear ends out there.

Thanks, I will put the 22r in until it blows, then put the 350 in later. Maybe even throw a ford 9" in when the time comes.
