vsv valve

yo wat happens if i dissconect the vsv vavle completely? will the wastegate still work? will i end up with more or less boost? also, wheres the best place to connect a boost gauge?

If you disconnect (and cap) the VSV, the watsegate will still work at the actuator spring setup (~7 psi) You won't go into higher boost like when VSV is connected because the VSV bleeds air out of the actuator and makes the wastaegate opens later. (as high as 11 psi)
The best place to connect a boost gauge on 2nd gen 3sgte is behind the intake manifold. There is an unuse vacuum port, you just have to remove the cap and use 5/8 inch hose.
On the 1st generation 3sgte, you can T the vacuum off at the turbo pressure sensor.
