1980 celica

Im a 6th gen'er but i have a friend who has a 1980 supracelica with a 4me in it. Im not to familar with this engine or what is out there for it, but i was wondering what kind of after market engine parts are out there for it? From what i can tell it was also in a landcruiser and the cressida

What will bolt up to it such as other turbo manifolds, Heads (frankenstien engine), better trannies and drvietrains? Is there a better engine that can be swaped in using the same trany.? Is there a header for it?

What are his options with a 4me. Whats out there?

thanks you guys

its a 4th series m block with a 2 valve head, the 5mge is a later version with 2 valve head, and the 7mge is an even later version with a 4 valve head, find an entire wrecked car to rob a 7m and 5 speed from, plan b would be a 5m and 5 speed

Not too familar with this engine, but in my experience engines within the same family [ie M series] usually bolt up mechanically.

Wiring will be more difficult. Especially if you go with the 7M.
But it will be worth it.

* You could always do the 7MGTE.
If it will fit in that...*
