losing charge

So my car's battery light has been comming on and off for quite a while and everytime I thought about fixing it, it would be fine for a couple days. The problem is that it died. I got the battery checked and it's good (after recharging) and I've replaced the alternator. The battery light is no longer on, but now the car's power still drains and eventually dies. I'm a little confused and frustrated and lost for words as to what to look for. if there's any suggestions I'd really appreciate it. My car is a 91GT convertible which means it has the 5sfe 2.2l engine.

Something is draining your battery.
Have you installed any electronics or play with anything that have wires lately?

What you can do is when the engine is off, use an ampmeter and hook it up to the battery. If you see the power being drawn, try pulling out fuse one at a time. The one that make the current stop, is the one that is draining you battery. Then, you can start from there.

it's draining while the car is on and running, when the car is off it's fine.. It's as if the alternator is not charging the battery, but since it's a new alternator I can't see why that would be the case.

whil the car is running disconnect the battrey. is the car dies then it the alternator. if its runing then its the battrey. check for any lose wires, and disconnect your amp (system) for a few day to see if thats causing the problem.

If you bought the alternator from a local rebuilder you can ask them to check your system for you. If you saved a few dollars by getting one from a parts store good luck.
Did you check the wires to see if they are all working properly?

would your amps be drawing so much power that the alternator can not keep up with the drain?

Just a thought...
