probably just fatigue due to the fact that its 15 years old! lots of celicas have power steering leaks and the high pressure hose is certainly vulnerable.
my car has had a replacement hi pressure line too, its not cheap

5th gen and PS leaks always go together... like breand and butter.... unfortunatly.

Fix them and expect them to be back in the short run, I already got used to them

hmm never done it but it really doesnt look like youd have to pull the motor. should be able to do it from underneath, put the car up on stands and lie under it and have a close look, i think the pump is accessible from underneath if you just remove all the underbody plastics etc.

oh ok, yeah i tried taking the nut off from the top but i couldnt really get to it cuz the motor is in the way because where the pump sits its like tilted under the motor, but i think even if i go from underneath i still wont have room to take it off but ill give it a shot once it stops raining

I've had the hose replaced and there was no need to move the engine anywhere. It's a pain in the arse because of the route the hose follows but it can be done

if its a line fitting you better get yourself the right size flare nut wrench or it will be twice as hard to remove

This is what they look like

man i'm in the same boat as you man.. atleast i think.. see i just baught mine a week ago and i heard that o' so anouying sound of a power steering pump that has ran dry or gone bad.. I pull over to check it out and when i poped the hood there was p-s fluid all over my inner fender.. i checked the fluid level and it was just a shy under what is required.. i filled it up and i still get that freakin noise and i still have fluid leakin on my inner fender.. so guys could a defective line have anything to do with my problems too??

Like said before, the high pressure PS hose is prone to leak on the 5th gen.
I've asked around about this and the consensus seems to be that the PS pump is too big and sends way too much pressure, that is why mostly the high pressure line breaks and leaks so often.
