well i dont know about the 3s can i pull more power out of it? which can i bore out more? and i know ill have to get new axles and a new tranny. which would be cheaper to get the 3s or the 5s? and which would just be an easier swap?
the 5sfe would definitely be a easier when compared to the 3sgte,
power wise, the 3sgte would yield more power if u decide to do internal mods to both engine.
the 5sfe is designed for economical and the 3sgte was more for power...
do some search and read up on the the difference of the engines, there are alot here in TN.

Which engine is bigger the 5s or the 3s? im not putting my engine into a celica im actually putting it into a 94 tercel. And is it really a good idea to put the 5s in to get more power if im boreing it? and after i bore either one which would have more power with a turbo?
i would say that neither would fit, if it did, there would have to be alot of custom mounts and stuff to look at...
do a search to see what are the more fesible swaps for ur ride.

i know what else would fit like a 5efe that what i have now. i want something faster. cause i went from a stock 3efe to a 5efe and now i just need more power. i know all about my mounts and brackets for my cars i know for my axles i will have to get custom and i have a place that is able to do that. my mounts are fine to i know that its possible. i just need to know about the power issue. which is better and where can i find a good engine not at a junkyard. swaping isnt a problem for me.
Whoa whoa, bro there's no reason to bore out these engines. They're not big block V8s or somethin.
Power on our lil jap motors comes from, high compression, aggressive camshafts, or boost (or lethal combonations of these three).
You will see no difference in what little block material you can bore out (maybe 1mm per cyl.) The only cause to bore one of these blocks is if your cylinder walls are scored or pitted and need to be freshly honed to have a smooth, untarnished surface. Even in that case you only want to bore out as much as you have to.
well im buildin a bit of a drag car here thats why i want to bore it out and im sure i can bore it out more then 1mm. im gonna get custom pistons camshafts and other stuff. so which is bigger and which is faster non-turbo a 5s or a 3s? i dont want a turbo on it just yet. and i need a 2.2L 5s. what is the biggest 3s 2.0L??

If you are looking for a supercharger for the 5SFE, RIPP MODS has a supercharger for that engine. The only downside is that they designed it to fit into the MR2.
