Cannot shift into gear!
My Celica ST185 has been acting up lately. It started when I noticed that it was hard to shift on my way to work. When I started it to go home, I couldn't get it into gear. If I turned the car off, put it in gear, then turned it on, I could go, and when I pressed in the clutch, it felt like it was still engaged (the engine would bog down or stall). Once I was in 1st, with some work, I could get it out of gear then rev the engine and drop it into 2nd. So in my mind I was thinking it was the slave cyl.
I replaced the slave cylinder and bled the system. The fluid was dirty so I bled out all of the old fluid. I took it for a drive and it shifted great. I parked it in my garage, when I started it 2 days later, the same problem, it wouldn't shift into gear. I started it and turned it off a bunch of times, sometimes it would shift into gear and other times it wouldn't shift. So now I am thinking that it is the clutch master. I just replaced it, bled the system and took it for a drive. It was shifting great. I was messing around with the clutch while driving to see and the clutch was doing its job. I stopped the car and turned it off and on a few times. About a block away from my house, I turned off the car and started it, now it won't go into gear again. But this time, I could shift it into 3rd, but it wasn't easy to get it into gear. Another thing that is different this time is when I push in the clutch (driving in gear) and pressed in the gas, I the clutch would disengage (since the revs went up and it stopped accelerating).
The clutch is about 15 months old with less than 6k miles on it. It was replaced at a toyota dealership. I called them and they said that it was out of warranty (1 year or 12k miles whichever is first).
What can it be?
