Question Idle Problem

I have an 88 Celica GT with 123,000 miles on it. It runs OK but when you shove the clutch in to come to a stop when driving the car the thing will die unless you give it some gas and let it come down gradually to an idle. The car idles ok the rest of the time you can rev the engine and it will still idle ok it's just after driving the thing. I have changed plugs wires cap rotor O2 sensor throttle position sensor. the car was randomly dying and was ocassionally hard to start the above seemed to fix everything excpet for dying when coming to a stop. Thought it could be the ISCV or the AICV. Any help would be appreciated.

Did you check out your throttle cable or idle screw? I know when I had idle problems on my celica, my idle screw was actually about to fall out. Some Loctite fixed that, though.

Yeah, the Idle screw and cable are OK. And it Idles fine except after you've been driving and shove the clutch in the thing just dies unless you stay on the gas when you shove the clutch in and let it come down to an Idle a little slower than if you just shove the clutch in with your foot off the gas. I've had the thing to 2 shops 1 was an Independant shop then I took it to a Toyota dealer, they didn't seem to know what was wrong with it either, they said we could start by doing this or that ( basically throw parts at it until it fixed it, that gets a little expensive though ) I have done everything myself that they sujested with the exception of putting a new ISCV on I put a used one on and it does the same thing. Guess I could have gotten a bad one, but it really doesn't act like an ISCV problem because it Idles fine, no surging or erratic idle problems.
