Unhappy 91 celica gt vibrating

I have a 91 celica gt that vibrates when I give it gas. It starts up and idles fine, but when it reaches 1000 RPMs and up the entire car vibrates and makes a rumbling sound. I also hear a slight ticking noise coming from the engine department. Please help!!!

Check all of your ignition related components first, then go from there. I don't see why and exhaust leak would cause it to knock and vibrate. Good luck,

Colin

I don't know whether the car runs good or not just yet. When I purchased it, it wasn't running. After alot of trial and error, I finally let a mechanic diagnose my starting problem. Come to find out I had a 15amp EFI fuse that wasn't making a tight connection and kept me from starting up which cost me $195. The mechanic told me that I needed to check my engine bearings. Ok, just recently replaced bearings. Vibration and rumbling problem...I did a quick inspection and found a broken egr vacuum modulator, bad rear engine mount, and a leak in my exhaust pipe. Replaced the modulator and patched up the exhaust. I should have a new motor mount next week. Alot of my vibration and rumbling stopped but not completely. It seems as though it's coming from around the left side (passenger).Currently it only rumbles and vibrate a lil when the rpms are above 1000. I give it gas and it looks like my belts are going to shake off not to mention the rumbling and stuff. I let the car sit and idle it sounds normal, other than the ticking which can only be heard when you're close to the engine. The timing checked out ok when hooked to a light. The ticking sounds like it's coming from the top/middle of the engine. I hope this helps.
