Sequoia Eats Tires

My wife is a low mileage driver. We've had her Sequoia SR5 4x2 for two years, and she just made 20,000 miles. It came with Dunlop Grandtrecks with a treadwear rating of 420. Despite the alignment being checked and confirmed good, the tires are nearly worn away. They will require replacement within the next three months or so. So really, I have two questions:

1) Anyone heard of any unusual reason why Sequoias chew up tires quicky (btw, trust me, it ain't her driving, she's extremely mild at the wheel)? Is there any reputation developing with the Tree and its tires?

2) Anyone have a recommendation for a good replacement tire model? The OEMs are way out of contention, for multiple reasons, including the wear issue.

Thanks for any input.
