I think that's just a sales tactic for those particular dealerships you went to. The one I go to actually greets you and stuff. Personally I like to not be bothered by salespeople and fiddle with the cars in the showroom. If I have a question I'd go to them. I never like it when there'd be a salesperson that comes to bother you every 5 minutes or so, which seems like they're desperate, a very off-putting vibe.

Yeah, I don't really like to be bothered to much either, but I would like for someone to say something to me. Perfect salesman to me would be to come over and greet you, give you his car and tell you that if you have any questions or would like to drive it, 'I'll be right over there' kind of deal. Anyway I wasn't going to buy anything so no big deal, it would have really ticked me off if I was looking to buy though. I actually was looking to buy one day, was looking at the Accord (1998), no one helped me, i walked next door, and ended up buying an Intrigue.
