Even when you find an adapter that might fit that Avalon, there is no wiring harness meant for use in that car.

a) All avalons came with an external amp, even the most basic factory system had a 170 watt amp. Therefore there is no bypass circuit as there is in any Toyota that has a stereo option with no external amp.

b) The wires running from the factory headunit to the amp are of a very high gauge, and therefore cannot handle the output of an aftermarket headunit without severly reducing sound quality and the risk of fire. In fact, the factory wires are shielded, because they are designed to carry such a low current.

The ONLY way to do it properly is to splice into the wires on the output side of the amplifier which is up under the glove box. And yes, it is a pain to do.
