Van-dash warning lights???

Somebody gave an 86 Van LE to use an airport beater. Anyway went to use it the other night and of course it was dead as a door nail. Threw a batt in it and it fired up, but the Brake, Charge, Radiator, and low oil level lights were illuminated. I checked all the fluid levels and they are Ok however the the alt didn't appear to be charging. Is there something I can take a look at first before I commit a 125 for an alternator plus install (can do it -since it is located in Ohio and I dont have time or tools
Thanks
Bob

INSTALLATION ALERT! A blown fuse in the ignition circuit may cause a "no charge" condition. Verify that battery voltage is present at the ignition terminal of the alternator plug.; See Tech Tip # 572; Test Chart Page # ND

Found this on advance auto parts site. Anybody know anything about this fuse location etc
thanks

The "Christmas Tree" on the dash...... It's your alternator. this is a common sign on these vans. The alternator is also a weak spot due to it's location. It tends to fail due to road grime over time and/ or if you have a valve cover leak, it usually ends up destroying your alternator if not fixed immediately.

X2 and 99% sure the cause of your alternator failure is due to a leaky power steering pump. You also want to replace the PS pump otherwise you will be replacing alternators every 3 months

Bob Hud's advice is probably the best place to start. The van I've posted as parts for sale had multiple charging problems. A bad connection from the fuse block was the start. For some reason it WAS charging when the dash lights were on and didnt when they went out. remove it and have it tested if you have juice going to that terminal. Also check all the wiring underneath since it corrodes away too.
