WANTED: 87 4WD LE engine

bought an 87 LE 4WD and now the engine is going. Don't want to scrap the van. Anybody ever put a diesel engine in one of these? how about an engine from a 2WD?

Thanks,

G

i might have an engine for you

Hello my name is juan. I have a 4yec engine taken out of a running van.
1987 through 1989 they used only one engine model wheather it was 2 or 4 wd.
I live in hamilton; ontario. Where are you?

Yes, you can use the 2WD model as both 4WD & 2WD Vans use the 2.2 4 cylinder 4YE engine.

Like the others said, the 2WD and 4WD have the same engine. Also, any reason you would want the turbodiesel engine? The turbodiesels are far more prone to headgasket failure than the gas engine.
