That is very big key. Years ago, I had a friend who had the same exact car/engine/driveline as I did (my car was even slightly heavier due to subs/stereo). On the highway when we raced it was dead even, but he couldn't drive off the line to save his life and I can hold my own
Anyways his time slips were 0.9-1.2 sec off mine, I think he even had sticker tires than I did. The particular car wasn't the easist to launch, but I know some many people that are good 1/2 sec what they should be and most of the time its all the driver skill.
