I am buying a used 2004 Matrix XRS with 25,000 mi. Should I purchase an extended warranty on this car? If so, does anyone recommend a company?

Don't bother and save your money. You should be able to get a run down on its service history and what not. If it's been serviced regularly and has had no major probs, I'd say you're ok w/o any additional warranty.

If it's piece of mind you want and can don't mind paying the extra then go for it.

Forget the Extended Warranty. You are Buying a Toyota. . . . . Not a Ford. I still drive my 92 Carolla Wagon with 360.000 miles, 600,000kms on the original engine. I recently bought a 05 Matrix xr without Extended Warranty.

I bought the extended warranty on my new 2003 Corolla. I now have 68,000 miles and have never used it, nor do I plan on it. No need.
