just bought a 2005 trd private sale, the prev owner offered me 4 tires 215/70/15, i went and bought rims for them as a tryout, they fit w/o problem. but when i checked the tire calculation site, found that the difference is more than 5% in diameter which is not recommended.

can anyone help me in finding the best way to handle this, apparently these tires are not good for the car, should i keep the 15" rims and find a better tire or go to the 16" rims of the regular matrix

Yeah, 215/70/15's are way too big. Are these tires for winter use? Most guys are using 195/65 for 15's.

Go w/ the 195/65/15's then. Get your tires quick. Once the white stuff ACCUMULATES, tire shops are definitely gonna jack prices up. That's if they haven't already. Tis the season...
