Hi

I have a 06 matrix -TRD edition. only complaint so far , is that there is no interior light up front. above the mirror or under the dash area, is there an easy way to add one to these cars?

Yours doesn't have lights in the rearview mirror?

No, only came with a plain rearview mirror.

I suppose since the TRD Edition is basically the base model, your rearview wasn't equipped w/ the maplights. It's standard in the (CDN) XRS. Possibly in the XR too. It's the only OEM option to get the light you're looking for.

Mine had a light with the sunroof controls. It was an 04 XRS. You may be able to retro fit it or get one installed.

XR has maplights in the mirrors. My friend's 04 has it. Kinda weird it's not standard on the base model.

The dealer gave us a corolla to drive until our matrix came in, it had lights just above the mirror with the sunroof control. took it for granted that the matrix would have at least a light there.

guess i will have to keep an eye for something at the junkyard
