What to look for in used Trix?

Looking at some newer cars, not sure i can justify more money into my 94. Anyways im looking at some 2003-2004 5spd Matrix's, is there any problem areas or issues to look at?

The cars im looking at are in the ball park of 60,000 - 120,000 Km with prices ranging from $13,400 to $16,700

03-04 5spds are generally problem-free. No major issues engine/tranny/suspension-wise. It's money well spent.
We also have a great Matrix following in Toronto. If you've ever been to any of TN's meets, you'd know.

In general, doesn't matter the make of car, try to stay away from the first (maybe more) production year. As each model year goes by, more of the bugs are fixed.

Hence I would look more at a 2004, then a 2003.
For some the catalytic converters don't last too long.
Wind noise from bad window seals also plague some of the owners.
You may note some minor raddles (noise) inside the cabin.
Starting problems does come up from time to time.
Trunk hydrolic lifters are weak (you will learn how to bend down)

That's all I have for now

matrixes are great cars. I almost got one but decided on the corolla last minute because of better gas milage and less engine noise. And I like a few of the corollas features better. But you will be very happy with this car. Its just a corolla in hatchback form with a few diff features. with the 5 speed you will be getting good gas milage but not as good as a corolla. And a little biut more engine noise then a corolla. But its a great car overall.
