Canada how do I soften suspension

How do I make the Matrix suspension softer? Yes softer not stiffer. I am interested in buying a base model Matrix primarily because of its size, accessibility, and cargo/trunk configuration. Problem is, the suspension is too tight and I need it to be more like a car, nice and soft. Any ideas?

How much effect will going with 14" rims have, i.e. more sidewall rubber?
Can I replace the shocks/struts with Corolla ones? Will they fit?

Anybody with experience with this?

Did you test drive a friend's Matrix or one off the dealer's lot? Dealers are notorious for putting 40-50 psi (way above recommended pressure) in the tires so the tires don't look flat after the car has sat a long time. Try riding in one with the correct air pressure. Take along a good tire gauge and make sure the COLD pressure matches what is recommended on the inside door sticker. I think you may change your tune about the Matrix being a "rough rider" after you do this.

No I agree with him, my 2004 Matrix rides rough, it seems to rock back and forth front to back and its highly annoying, thank god i dont drive it full time.

Boreal,

You can always try a suspension garage and ask for an opinion.

This is the second time your asking about the 14 " rims.
