New Matrix Regrets

I've been driving Toyotas for a while. My first was a 1984 toyota corolla SR5, second was a 1986 Tercel, third was a 1989 corolla LE, fourth was a 1995 Tercel(which I still own), fifth a 2001 echo(still own), and last a 2006 Matrix. Bought the Matrix last fall, but there is something about it that doesn't feel like a true Japanese car. I'm now planning in selling or trading it in.
Has anyone of you old Toyota owners encountering the same felling about the North American built Toyotas?

The only difference is that it's no longer a "small" car (with regards to your "doesn't feel like a true Japanese car"). Remember this is also a station wagon, as such it's noisy (like most station wagons). Hence don't let those two indicators let you think you are buying something of lesser value.

It could be that you are more familiar with a coupe or a sedan, rather than a station wagon/hybrid mini-mini van.

I'm really not a car expert, but the last model that came from Japan (that I remember) was the Mazda Protege. Toyota, Mazda are done in America. Easiest way to check out is the model number near, in the corner of the front window. If it starts with J, it's Japan.

My '06 Matrix is my third Toyota and by far my favorite. I had a Toyota 4x4 truck for a while and then a 90 Celica that I truly loved until some woman killed it. But I have no regrets at all with my Matrix.

My regret is that I didn't buy one sooner.

You can only have one of those options.
