P0500 code

I have 2003 matrix w/2zz-fe engine......vehicle speed sensor is code p0500........sometimes when I first start the car ABS and EBRAKE lights will come on together and speedo wont work........whe I drive for a minute speedo will work and the 2 lights will go off.........anyone had this problem?...if so what was the fix?.....
