Now thinking of getting a new Matrix AWD

I've looked at new Corollas but found them cramped in the driver's seat (I'm 6-2) so now I'm thinking about maybe getting a Matrix. I looked at the interior specs and it seems they've got more legroom then the Corolla. The local dealer didn't have any Matrix AWDs to try. The only thing I'm aware of is that they're a little underpowered but I'm used to driving diesels and other underpowered cars so that isn't too much of something I'd notice. I drove an 06 Corolla and found it to be very adequately powered.
So now I'm looking for feedback from Matrix owners and how they like them.
Thanks!
DJ

I've had mine since August 2002. I still do double or triple takes at it before walking away from it.

We've had ours since September 05. Never back to the dealership for other than oil changes. No problems, works great, super MPG - 28-31MPG on highway. I'm 6-ft and haven't had any problems "fitting" even with the sunroof. It's not as quiet or comforatbale as our Highlander, but then again, it doesn't cost near as much.

My only suggestion is to consider trading the original tires ASAP. Most come with Bridgestone or Goodyear. Both are good manufacturers, but these tires are low-end. I'd go with the Goodyear Assurance Triple Tread. Excellent reviews everywhere. Have fun!

I personally like BFGoodrich's. I've had many satisfying miles on any car that I used them on. They handle well, ride smooth, are relatively quiet and last a long time.
