behind the headlamp at the bottom center, there is a bolt there that you use to adjust the lights.

I thought I already posted a diagram in the ultimate Matrix resource thread but checked and I only posted the foglight adjustment. arne's got the idea but if you still need the diagram I can post it up later tonight.

Headlamp aiming diagram

Thanks. I saw the foglight diagram... I'd really appreciate the headlamp diagram if you can.

Thanks! Wouldda never have figured that out!

Do you have any knowledge of the HID conversion kits that do NOT come with projector lenses? I got one but am not satisfied with the projected beam pattern. Any ideas?

HID's don't come w/ projector lenses. Kits just usually contain the bulbs and ballasts and hook up to the stock wire harnesses. To date, their aren't any projector headlights available for the Matrix. The people that DO have them have done it themselves.

By aiming the headlights down does that help with the hids causing the glare?

The glare comes from the relfector having flat planes. However, it appears that with the HID lamps, the position (front to back) makes a big difference. On mine, the left one has a very nice smooth pattern but the right one has the noticeable star pattern. It looks like if I would be able to insert the lamp farther in it would help but I have yet to make that adjustment. Anyone else have any ideas? Also, I was wondering if the position of the central cup would have an effect. It seems to float in the middle by a post that might be moveable.
