Tight Steering

Just bought Automatic 2003 Toyota Matrix XR and wondering
if the steering suppose to be so tight. In compare to ours
current second car (2000 Toyota Camry CE) and the previous
one (2002 Nissan Alima) the steering kind of not so smooth
as it should be.
Any comments are more than welcome.
If you think I have a problem, please advice what should I check
before I take the car to the Dealer.
Thanks in advance

It is supposed to feel that way, gives you more connection to the road and better response.

You don't like it like that?

No, no... It's O.K.
Generally I like the car, design and performance.
It's just too tight from my opinion and wanted to know
if somebody else has experienced this problem/behaviour as well.
As I said, I own 2000 Camry and had 2002 Altima and in compare
to the Matrix the steering there is much, much easier.
Anyway, thanks a lot for the response.
