USA Greetings from new Toyota (Matrix XR) Owner

Hello to everybody!

As of yesterday, I am now the proud owner of a 2003 Toyota Matrix XR with about 22K mi. on the odometer. I am about to leave behind a 1999 Nissan Sentra when I officially take over the new car in a few weeks. I was active on the Nissan Forums over the past three years, so after discovering Toyota Nation, I now look forward to becoming part of this community as well.

Welcome aboard! Way to get an '03 with low miles; I'm already approaching 22K on my '05! If I hadn't started carpooling to work a few months ago, I would have already surpassed it. You'll love your new car.

Well thank you! I know that I put an ungodly number of miles on my Nissan Sentra (about 100K in 3 years), although having a girlfriend in another town without reliable transportation of her own, as well as commuting to work--has the tendency to do that! lol. Hopefully my new Toyota will not meet the same fate, as she now has transportation. Also, when I complete my Master's Degree in a few weeks, hopefully I can find a job in or around that same town and eliminate the long commute completely (wish me luck!). But back to the original point, I bought a salvaged Matrix with some front damage and had it rebuilt. Once I can locate a passenger side airbag, it will be as good as new. Personally, I am surprised, given the light front damage that the car was ever totalled. It was an easy and inexpensive repair, air bags aside. That's fine with me, though; someone's loss is my gain and the miles are EXTREMELY low for a 2003--not to mention that the interior is in immaculate condition. I'm definitely looking forward to getting behind the wheel in a few weeks and enjoying my new car!
