Keyless Entry--Does it beep? - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums

Hello everybody,

I tried searching for this already, but to no avail (perhaps I am not using the right search terms?). I have the OEM keyless entry on my Matrix XR, but I have noticed that the car does not beep when I press the lock button on the remote. The Nissan Sentra that I am getting rid of soon has the ability to do that and the beep/no beep feature can be toggled on the remote itself. Does the Matrix have the same functionality? If so, I am having trouble locating it and figuring it out. Also, I currently have no owner's manual; although I do plan on buying one soon. Because it is Sunday, the dealership is closed. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You can get 2005 Matrix service manuals off ebay. $115 + shipping.(3 volume set) I just checked and did not see any. The person that sells them works at a dealership. They are usually come up for sale.

I think you have to get VIP for that to be enabled...

My 2006 Matrix XR (just bought - brand new!) doesn't beep either. I don't think it's worth $115 to turn the beeping back on though, so if anyone knows how to do that, please let us know! Thanks.

Well if you dont have an alarm it wont beep....so I guess it's like the people before me said you have to have the VIP for it to beep, otherwise its just a button to lock and unlock the doors hence no beep.
