Bought mine a couple of weeks ago. XR auto. Got 410 miles on it so far. It's a great little car so far. Enjoying the gas milage right now from a suburban. Welcome to great gas mileage. So far its a great little car. Got the 100000 mile warranty from toyota on mine. So i just take care of my regular maintenance and i got a great little car for the next 7 years at least. As long as no one wrecks it that is. My last Toyota got totaled with one month left to pay. I had absolutely no problems with that truck other than normal maintenance items. I miss my little truck. R.I.P.

Just took my month-old 2006 XR auto to the beach last week (Ocean City NJ if you're curious). My girlfriend and I were totally loving it. The mileage is so much better than my previous cars (Mitsubishi Lancer and Pontiac Bonneville), it's very comfy inside and there's tons of space for everything. Totally didn't mind the turnpike traffic at all since I got an adapter to hook the ipod into the back of the cd changer.

Also, we had a good laugh at all the huge SUVs that people were driving about 90 mph on the highway, wasting their gas. And they couldn't fit into the tight beach-town parking spaces.

Just don't get hit by one. I'm not sure there would be much left.

I dunno... when we sat down w/ the finance guy @ the Toyota dealer (Bellingham, WA) he brought it up. $1600 which takes it up to 100k bumper-bumper. If I don't use it inthat time (6yrs) I mail in a letter from Toyota stating so, and I get a full refund on it. So... if something small happens (<$200) I'll probobly pay out of pocket. Also, there's a $50 deductible. So, after that Volvo I was driving and paying probobly an average of $600-1000/yr in repairs, I was happy to get an ext. warranty.
Although, now I'm afraid to add any mods, for fear of being rejected for warranty work!

That sounds kind of high to me. I paid $995 for a 7 yr 100000 mile warranty with $0 deductible. Of course at the end of the 7 yrs, I don't get my money back. I bought the Platinum coverage through toyota. Considering how much repairs cost, I think it's worth the money. However, I previously owned an toyota pickup for 5 years. Had absolutely no repairs to it other than normal maintenance. After that, truck was totaled out in an accident, so it's a crapshoot at best.
