axle back or muffler shop special?

i recall someone saying that all the xrs needs is a cold air intake (which i ordered an injen) and an axle back exhaust. but i was thinking if its just axle back then y not just buy an after market muffler and have it welded to the stock piping, axel backs seem to be a bit more than just a muffler itself and installation is like 40 bucks at a local muffler shop, so does this make sense to anyone?

Get a Magnaflow catback. It's what most XRS guys get. Later on, you can customize the resonator if you really want to get picky. You should be able to get it for about $380. Try here:

i was thinking of getting a tanabe because i know they are quiet until u hit the high rpms, but if u say most guys run the magnaflow then i'll have to rethink it...i installed my injen CAI today it was the most painful cold air installation ive ever been through especially because injen sent me instructions for a 04 xrs and i own an 05, and it was aparent that there was a change in the way they ran the vacum lines and what not so i had to do a lot creative work
