Bought new Matrix, rubber caps in glove comp?

Hi, I just got a new Matrix about a week ago, and I recently noticed a small plastic bag in my glove compartment. Inside there are two black rubber caps; and the bag reads: "IMPORTANT To Pre-Delivery Inspector: Insert these rubber plugs into the holes of the center floor side member extensions". On the back of the bag there is a picture of the underside of a car pointing where the plugs would go (Though the car doesnt look like a Matrix).

Does anyone have any clue what this is? Is it safe to drive without them on? i.e. Should I be worried?

**UPDATE**

I talked to some guy from the dealership and he said that it wasn't too important and that I might be better off not putting them on because if water gets on or around it, the rubber + metal combonation might cause rusting or something.

Now I don't know if its better to have them on or leave the holes. Is there anything in the hole that might be damage if water were let in because the cap wasn't on?

They're plugs to cover the holes used to transport the car, typically on a transport truck. If you can find the hole, just plug em yourself. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Congrats on the new Matrix, BTW and welcome to TN.

I think in front of the rear wheel wells? I'm not sure exactly. There's a diagram printed on a piece a paper thats in the bag.

The dealership is supposed to install them before they sell the car. They could always do it for ya.
