amp grounding

I am installing a single MTX in my friends matrix. Everything is set up except for where to connect the ground wire. i can connect it directly to the chassis. ive got enough wire to make the connection. Just need to know where the best spot is.

When I installed my amps, I removed the rear seat, and used a drill to create a "fresh" ground point. I know of some people who have just used some existing bolts in the back with success, but nothing beats a "fresh" ground, right to the body of the car.

I installed my amp under the passenger seat. In the process of pulling up the rug to run wires I found an unused bolt hole in the chassis and used it. It was already threaded, so I just sanded down to bare metal and used a ring washer under the bolt head. It was nice, as the resulting cable to my amp was less than a foot long ;-)

if you do this i suggest you silicone both the top and underneath of the screw/bolt, the rear floor is very thin and rusts pretty quick, mine lasted less then a year before i had to redo it.

I actually found a boss that was welded to the floor (similar to the mounts for the seat rails). It did not go through to the outside of the car, so I don't think rust will be a problem.
