Talking about lift

Hi folks just got a brand new 06 XR and love it .
I have been hanging around the forum for about a month now and I would like to know what lift is . I assume it is about the engine but don't really know for sure.
Thanks Jim

Lift is the "L" in VVTL-i found in the XRS' 2ZZ-GE engine.

Please use the search feature. This question gets asked so often no one really has the time to answer it anymore.

BTW, congrats on your XR and welcome to the site.

Lift is a great feeling and an even better sound. However I fealt that it kicked in too late when compared to Honda's VTEC (V what?) But if you have a 2003-2004 Lift kicks in much earlier than on 05-06s.
