Toyota Removal

So I love the car still, and more each day. But on the back there seems to be too much clutter. I like the Matrix, AWD XR, and Toyota symbol. But the name Toyota on the upper left side of the hatch is kinda annoying. Can a simple hair dryer remove this or are there little tabs that actually go into the hatch. On my honda the name peeled right off but I have heard of some cars actually being glued on that have little tabs that fit into holes in the metal. Let me know so I can get this off tonight!

I did the same thing. My approach was to put the car's rear end in the sun for a couple hours (no jokes please) to soften up the double-sided tape holding each emblem on. Then I took dental floss and simply ran it under each emblem I wanted to remove. Came right off, no holes or anything. I then cleaned up any gummy residue left by the tape with some WD-40, followed by a coat of wax.

Be careful and you can keep the emblems for resale time. To put them back on, just get some 3M body adhesive tape. That's what it's made for.

Go slow and no worries.

Floss or fishing line seems to be the most popular method. If you're patient and work slowly, most of the glue will come off the body and the rest stays on the emblem.

Beware, the Toyota 'symbol' does have holes behind it. The Toyota 'word', Matrix and AWD XR emblems are clear for removal.

some bug tar remover or laquer thinner would take the glue off just rinse it quickly and put a little wax on it after, works like a charm

I want to take the Toyota Emblem (the one supposedly with holes) off and paint them black. Do you think i'll be able to put them back on with adhesive?

Just use 2 sided tape, cut into tiny strips.
