Programing Keyless enrty on '06 XR

Where can I find the instructions to change the programing of how the doors lock? It should be part of the keyless entry programming.

On my tacoma I could change the option if wanted the doors to lock and unlock when I start and shut off the truck. I want to do this ont he '06 matrix.

This is a 5sp trani. I found the automatic trans instructions in the manual. Hoping there is something that can be done with the manual.

Have you tried it anyway? I don't see why it wouldn't work regardless of transmission.

Are you talking about the way the doors auto-lock when you put the car in gear? The owner's manual has a page explaining how to change that.

And if that isn't what you're talking about.......sorry.

the instuctions int he manual decribe how to have the door lock when you put the car in Drive. I don think it will lock the doors with out an auto trans to activate it.

My tacoma has the same alarm option - the RS3200 or some thing like that. THe truck came with keyless entry no alarm. The fact is, the keyless entry and the alarm are in the same unit. All I had to do was "activate" the alarm by plugging two wire sonnectors together under the dash. Then I could use the programming of the alarm to auto lock the doors. I was hoping the same could be done with the matrix.

can yopu tell me where and what plugs you plugged together to make it work as an alarm?
What year tacoma is this? I want to do this mod.

it is in slighjtly differnt places delendingont he year. remove the palstic under the steering wheel and look for two white connectors (two wires) that are unplugged. Plug them together and instant alarm (yo must have keyless entry fist). I bought an indicator off ebay for cheap, you can get one at the dealer as well.

I looked under the steering wheel of my 07 and there no connectors there. I just decided to purchase an alarm off of ebay and use it. It was easy to install all of the wires are behind the driver kickpanel. And it does the door lock/unlock with ignition on/off, as well as a horn honk for arm/disarm. I don't know why they don't just put the alarm in standard on the tacos, they do on the 4 runner. Seems like the 4 runner gives you alot more options.
