Canada 16" rims on Matrix XRS

As mentioned in title, just wondering if a set of 16" rims with 205/45 will look bad on the Matrix. I am planning to get a Matrix soon to replace my old celica, however I just brought a set of 16" aftermarket rims and was planned to put on any replacement ride.

I know 17" will definitely be better, but tires are so expensive. Anyone has 16" on Matrix? What's your thought? Upload some pictures if you have please.

Thank you,
Sam

The Matrix XR like mine came with optional 16" alloys. The XRS comes with 17. Essentially they look the same but I think the XRS might be a bit lowered due to the suspension tuning. But anyways, here is what mine looks liek (lip kit and all) Aside from the wheel gap, again XR with AWD, and I am painting my calipers black very soon.

I have the stock 16" on my matrix. Not bad looking at all, check out toyota.com if you want pics. however improvements could be made with 17's.
However, buying aftermarket 16" is just a waste of money, because it comes with them stock. with 17" being the option. It could be different in canada, so I could be wrong.
Now on to the next issue, the tires on the matrix are 205/55/16. If you put on 205/45/16 you will be putting on an overall smaller tire, which will jack up your spedometer and odometer. Basically your car will be thinking you are going faster and farther than you really are. you can screw with the odometer gearing to correct this, but is quite expensive, unless you know how to do it yourself. plus putting on smaller wheels in my opinion just looks retarded.

I agreed with you Crazzyboy, that's why I want to see if any available pictures of someone is actually using the 205/45/16 setup. My problem is that I have purchased the 16" rims with tires for my 86 Celica GTS already, just few months ago. I am just thinking if I can apply the sets on the Matrix and how it looks.

Not much more I could add to Crazzyboy's comment. 205/45/16's are way too small. You'll rack up extra mileage in no time.

I used to run the 16" OEM rims for winter but currently use the 16" Celica GTS rims. Used 205/55/16 in both cases...

Ok, so it still ok to run 205/55/16 setup. It looks great on your car mistamatrix.
My set of rims are look like this

16" - 5 bolts instead of four in this picture

Any comments?

How wide are those rims? Are they Rota Torque's? I was looking into those but the offset was +48.

The brand is Kspeed, some Taiwan brand. I am not familiar with this brand but the rims are great.

My set has offset +38mm 5x100/114.3 which fit perfectly on my Celica. PM me if you want a contact for these rims. This guy is hanging around Toronto. I knew him from other forum.
