Tire Pressure

Got a flat on my 2005 Matrix.
Changed it, got the tire pressure indicator lite.
Hit the reset and it went out. The damn thing keeps coming on when the tires heat up.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
J.

Sorry, Not sure about that one. Although mine went off a few days ago while on the freeway, checked my tires, and they were fine. reset it and no problems since...or before this. Pehaps its just super sensitive.

If you read the owners manual, there are explicit instructions on how to reset. You have to turn on the ignition, push and hold the reset button until it blinks 3 times. Then it will reset.

I didn't do this the first time mine went off, because it kept re-activating, then I read the manual.

I have had mine go off 2 times and both times I had a screw in my tire and the pressure for that tire read about 20psi. I normally run about 34 psi. The system actually worked as advertised.

Good luck...

Make sure all 4 tires are at the same pressure. The Matrix uses an indirect system to measure air pressure. This means if one is higher or lower than the others it will cause the light to come on. This is important to note because most tire stores do not use recommended tire pressure. They just guess what is best.
