Magnaflow offers the only catback exhaust (midpipe + muffler) for the Matrix. All others are axleback (muffler only).

I set up a group buy last year at http://www.mufflerexpress.com/contactus.asp
You can always call them and see if they're still willing to honour the group buy price. Mention the "Toyota Matrix Magnaflow cat-back Group Buy" set up last yr. It worked out to $309 + tax = $355.35 TOTAL. But of course, ask them how much they're selling it first before you mention this price in case they're selling it for cheaper now.

Since nobody is answering my post in the Corolla forum, is this same exhaust available for my 2005 Corolla XRS? How interchangable are the parts between the 2?

I checked the Magnaflow website for you and there does appear to be a catback available.
http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...e=Sport&id=253

But from the images, there's a difference between the exhaust for the Matrix and the Corolla.

Corolla

Matrix

Thanks for the help. Definitely looks like there is a difference between the 2.

Technically, the midpipe should be the same. I wouldn't be surprised if it were compatible.

I think I will just go with a GReddy SP2 axleback since that seems to be what everyone else does. They say it still makes power too.

Don't fool yourselves guys. Changing the muffler will not give you appreciable power (tq or hp) that are noticeable by the seat of your pants. Changing out the midpipes and muffler will mostly result in changed sound and perhaps aesthetics (e.g. bigger pipes).

Ok. No, you're not going to get earth-rocking differences but it does help the car breath easier.

I know that. But I can get the rear section and then have a muffler shop do the mid pipe portion in the same diameter for the full effect.

just find a nice shop that'll do a full custom piping and get your cat deleted and bigger piping all the way through and get a nice universal muffler like an apexi welded on and then u'll get some nice power

Canada Exhaust

I put a Tanabe Exhaust on my 05 TRD, axle back http://www.tanabe-usa.com/index.asp

They are a quieter exhaust with a low deep tone, personally i would have liked something a little louder but i'm glad it is not excessively loud. They guarantee that they do not exceed 95 db at all rpm ranges.
