help installing intake on base model matrix

hi,

my friend got himself a short ram intake... i think it's actually for the xrs... but from the looks of it, it will fit fine...

but there is a big thick 1 inch hose, coming out of the stock intake hose. so after the install, it looks as if it would just hang there. there are no parts in the kit to plug it up or whatever.

what are some alternatives to fix this problem? maybe connect it to a small filter of its own?

the thick piping seems to come from underneath the engine cover...

any help would be appreciated.

if its like my xrs then u'll have to rip the bumper off and route that thick hose to the bottom portion of the stock airbox...what brand is that short ram?
