Canada 2006 Matrix XRS -> now happy owner of 2007 Matrix XR

i'm looking to purchase a matrix and was wondering if i happened to come across a 2006 matrix xrs in phantom grey pearl (just drooling thinking about it), would it be cheaper now that the 2007 xr model is out? there is a $5k in price between the 2, which is a lot to me...

They stopped making the XRS. Its also a difficult engine to work on.

Hence my inclination would be to go for the 2007 XR.

hey cuto, come for a ride in my 05 XRS and you'll definately be looking for nothing other. You won't find any new 06 XRS's anywhere. They're all sold. And as far as price goes, the 07 XR with option package is the same price as my 05 XRS! FWIW!

anyhow... so i don't have to bother looking for a '06 xrs anymore eh? damn! i didn't know it had a better engine shucks... i thought i'd be lucky if i could find one in Ottawa. shucks shucks! ahhh!!!

um... i guess i wouldn't mind riding in ur matrix, altho it would be teasing me cuz i can't get one! bahh...

oh matrix owners! is there a way to change the gas pedal to have a bit more tension? man, it's so light when you even tap the gas pedal.

You won't be disappointed with your purchase. I got my 2007 phantom grey pearl XR five weeks ago and am loving it. It would be nice if it had a few more ponies under the hood, but even being a stock engine, I can pass most cars with ease. I would recommend buying the rubber cargo mat for the back if you plan on hauling anything around as you will notice that everything slides around unless you use the cargo nets.

Congrats cuto. Come out to the next meet. Drop in at www.matrixowners.com, Toronto forum for meet info. We might have a Christmas meet on the afternoon of Dec. 16th. It's a mix of trixes, rollas, and a tercel.

I would make sure to follow the "break-in" tips in your manual.
