celica gts

today i was watching some videos on youtube of celica gts's and noticed once they hit vvtl-i they stay there in every gear consistantly, why is that? also why do they redline so much higher it looks to be they redline around 8500rpm. if i got a stronger clutch would this enable me to stay in lift throught out my gears?

The engine is tuned diffrently than the one in the Matrix. That, and I think the Celica , up untill 2002, had a higher redline. Either way , if you wanna hit lift like that, you will need a ECU reflash.

not to mention the fact that the celica weighs so much less than matrix.

Just pray your conrod bolts hold up to all that redline. Its all fun getting that valve timing to kick in but even though the engine is designed to redline that high its stress regardless.

just need an 03 xrs....

if you have 04 or 05+ you wont be able to stay in lift in 1-2, and for 05 2-3 as well
