XR and XRS exhaust

Does anyone know if the XR and XRS have the same exhaust system? I can't imagine why they'd be different, and the diagrams on the resourse thread look so much the same. I'm curious because I'd like to know if an aftermarket exhaust for an xrs would fit an xr.

believe the OEM systems are different. I think the base/XR has a 1.75" system whereas the XRS has a 2.25" one. The Magnaflow catback that is the most popular with modders for both models is a 2.25" one. They have different model #'s but they are in fact identical.

OEM piping is 2".

If it were 2 1/4", I don't think anyone would be bothering to buy a new exhaust w/ the same diameter.

So I'd imagine then that any XRS system would fit an XR. As far as pipe sizing goes, I don't think it'd make any difference if the XRS system was slightly larger, it's only an axle back and having a larger pipe way back there wouldn't make any difference.

Difftent intake manifolds make the covers diffrent. Otherwise its a direct fit.

So if you modified the cover to fit over the manifold you could make it work?

Why would you want to switch engine covers?

It's like putting an XRS badge on a base/XR and vice versa.

Someone makes a stainless cover, I think it's injen. Oh don't worry, I'm not into fake badging stuff, I just like the look of polished stainless
